This is a high-ownership role where you won't just be building features — you'll have direct input on system architecture, product strategy, and technical decisions that shape the digital experience for a large-scale customer base. Engagement type: Direct Hiring | Level: Senior | Language: English fluent (required) | Location: Portugal-based, fully remote PROJECT & CONTEXT You'll be embedded in an agile e-commerce team focused on enhancing user experience and driving digital sales for a major European Telco. The scope includes ownership of frontend architecture decisions, feature development, system and integration testing, and collaboration with Product Owners and UX designers. It's a dynamic, international environment where engineering quality and product thinking go hand in hand. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 5+ years of professional frontend development experience — non-internship, production-grade, with JavaScript and TypeScript as core languages Strong hands-on experience with React and Next.js in large-scale web applications Solid proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 , and crafting responsive, cross-device user interfaces Experience integrating and optimising RESTful APIs in frontend applications Demonstrated ability to produce high-performance, well-tested code aligned with current best practices Ownership mindset — comfortable taking responsibility for code quality, system tests, functional tests, and integration Degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies, or equivalent practical experience Experienced working in Scrum/Agile environments , with strong collaborative and interpersonal skills Ability to translate functional and technical requirements into working software, working closely with POs and UX designers Fluent English — required for daily communication across an international team Based in Portugal , available to work fully remotely NICE TO HAVE Experience with e-commerce platforms or high-traffic consumer-facing web applications Familiarity with SaaS application integration in frontend contexts Exposure to frontend performance optimisation techniques (Core Web Vitals, SSR/SSG strategies in Next.js) Experience contributing to frontend architecture decisions at team or platform level Background in Telco or similarly complex digital product environments
