The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Design and build scalable services and APIs as part of a small, close-knit backend group. Work alongside frontend, design and product colleagues to deliver clean, maintainable code that holds up under heavy load.

What you'll do

- Build robust, scalable backend services and APIs.

- Write clean, minimal and easy-to-follow code.

- Collaborate with frontend, design and product partners to solve large-scale technical problems.

- Weigh several possible solutions and select the most appropriate one.

- Turn both detailed specifications and loosely defined requirements into working software.

- Use AI-powered tools where helpful to build and ship code faster.

What we're looking for

- Strong command of data structures and algorithms.

- Backend experience with Java on AWS.

- Experience debugging code and resolving performance bottlenecks.

- Ability to write concurrent code that takes advantage of multi-core servers.

- Comfort working in a high-growth, fast-paced startup with a small team.

- A collaborative spirit, empathy for users and a strong work ethic.

- Ability to balance rigor with speed of delivery.

- Located in the US and working in a US timezone.

- Self-taught engineers are welcome to apply.

Compensation and benefits

- Base salary: USD 130,000 to 170,000 per year
