What You'll Do

As a Backend Engineer at Breet, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining the systems that power our products.

You'll:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and Express.js
• Develop secure, high-performance APIs and backend systems
• Build and integrate with third-party APIs and external services
• Design and optimize database structures using MongoDB
• Implement caching and performance optimization using Redis
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Frontend Engineering, and DevOps teams
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
• Monitor system performance and proactively improve reliability and scalability
• Help maintain the security and integrity of our platform

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who has built products, not just features.

You should have:

• 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience
• Proven experience building fintech products or financial systems
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and Express.js
• Experience working with MongoDB
• Experience using Redis for caching and performance optimization
• Strong knowledge of Git/GitHub workflows
• Experience integrating third-party APIs
• Experience designing and building secure backend systems
• Solid understanding of backend architecture, scalability, and performance optimization
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

Nice to Have

• Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of microservices architecture
• Experience in cryptocurrency, blockchain, or payments
