Senior Backend Software Engineer

About the Role

Join the backend engineering team at a customer data platform company, building systems that help businesses activate and understand their data. You will shape core product capabilities, with a focus on reliability, performance, and a thoughtful customer experience.

What You'll Do

• Own backend systems, improving their scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

• Improve data warehouse performance through query optimization and precomputed state.

• Build analytics and experimentation features for audience creation and performance tracking.

• Develop real-time audience syncing using change data capture and streaming approaches.

• Partner with product and design to turn customer needs and product specifications into robust backend solutions.

• Guide architecture decisions that balance performance, simplicity, and long-term maintainability.

What We're Looking For

• At least 6 years of backend engineering experience designing and delivering large-scale systems.

• Strong systems design fundamentals and an understanding of large-scale data processing.

• Experience building backend products in high-growth startup environments, as well as working at established companies.

• Background in data activation, analytics, or data tooling within SaaS.

• A product-minded approach, including comfort speaking with customers and iterating on feedback.

• Strong computer science fundamentals or equivalent technical experience.

• Clear communication skills, curiosity, and a record of taking on new technical challenges and growing in responsibility.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $180,000 to $320,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is not available.
