About the Role
A venture-focused boutique law firm is seeking a senior attorney to lead and grow its bankruptcy and restructuring practice. You will advise investment funds on troubled portfolio companies and work closely with attorneys serving the firm's existing clients.
What You'll Do
Lead the bankruptcy and restructuring practice as its senior department head.
Advise investment funds on debt-side restructurings, workouts, and troubled portfolio companies.
Handle both in-court bankruptcy matters and out-of-court restructurings.
Manage approximately 300 to 400 hours per year of firm-generated bankruptcy work alongside your portable practice.
Mentor and direct a junior associate, collaborate with colleagues, and grow your own client base.
What We're Looking For
10 to 25 years of bankruptcy, restructuring, and debtor-creditor experience, including substantial senior-level experience.
A portable bankruptcy and restructuring practice generating approximately $1 million to $1.5 million in annual collections, with a track record of originating and managing client relationships.
Strong corporate restructuring and debt-side advisory experience, including in-court and out-of-court matters.
A J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York.
An entrepreneurial approach, interest in growing your practice, and a collaborative working style.
Prior large law firm experience is preferred.

Annual salary range: $250,000 to $300,000. The role offers a path to equity partnership. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
Hybrid role based in New York, New York, with an expectation of working from the office approximately three days per week.
