Senior Bookkeeper

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Bookkeeper specializing in QuickBooks Online. The Senior Bookkeeper will handle day-to-day bookkeeping activities, manage financial records, prepare and analyze financial statements, and ensure accuracy in accounting processes. Key responsibilities also include reconciling accounts, recording journal entries, utilizing accounting software for client accounts, and supporting data-driven financial decision-making for clients. Attention to detail and adherence to deadlines are essential in this position.

This is a senior bookkeeping role. The ideal candidate must understand the accounting behind the transactions and be able to review, reconcile, clean up, and close books accurately — not only categorize bank feeds.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Bookkeeping and Finance, including maintaining accurate financial records and account reconciliation.
• Experience working with U.S.-based businesses and U.S. bookkeeping/accounting practices.
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks Online, for efficient financial management and reporting.
• Strong skills in preparing Financial Statements and analyzing financial data to provide valuable insights to clients.
• Knowledge and experience in recording Journal Entries and other essential accounting tasks in line with standard practices.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Relevant certifications, such as QuickBooks Certification or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, are preferred.
• Experience working with small and mid-sized businesses is a plus.

• You cannot explain the logic behind journal entries.

Compensation:

• Base salary $900 - $1,250 + commission
• Additional monthly compensation per client assigned (based on workload and complexity)
• Total compensation increases as your client portfolio grows
