DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will:
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple client accounts
- Complete monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
- Perform catch-up bookkeeping and account clean-up projects
- Prepare month-end working papers and supporting schedules
- Maintain accurate financial records using Xero and other cloud-based applications
- Communicate directly with clients to resolve outstanding items and bookkeeping questions
- Collaborate closely with CPAs and internal team members
- Prepare files for year-end accounting and tax engagements
- Manage multiple client deadlines while maintaining exceptional accuracy
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and processes
- Perform additional bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- CPA designation preferred but not required; candidates with strong relevant experience, technical aptitude, and demonstrated accounting expertise will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles
- Experience managing multiple client portfolios
- Xero experience preferred
- Canadian bookkeeping experience preferred (strong U.S. bookkeeping experience will also be considered)
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable learning new technology and cloud-based accounting systems
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a remote team
- Positive attitude, accountability, and commitment to continuous improvement
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Reliable laptop or desktop computer for full-time remote work.
- Dedicated and professional home office setup.
- Stable, high-speed internet connection (backup connection preferred).
- Ability to work securely using cloud-based systems and remote collaboration tools.
