Senior Business Analyst

Key Responsibilities

• Possesses knowledge of overall business structure and strategy
• Possesses knowledge of the organizational structure and culture
• Gathers the needed approvals for requirements
• Validates and manages changing requirements
• Manages conflicts and ensures the issues are resolved
• Organizes and oversees requirement traceability
• Identifies the requirements which can be reused
• Evaluates the impacts of changing requirements
• Ensures that relevant stakeholders have a consistent understanding of the requirements
• Chooses requirements communication and distribution method suitable for the stakeholder

• Distinguishes all applicable stakeholders and determines stakeholders' influence areas and relationship needs
• Creates and manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Understands assumptions, constraints and dependencies of the project/product
• Estimates the effort required for the requirements to be created
• Creates a work-plan for business analysis tasks, including approvals, manages his/her own and teams activities, tasks, work outputs and timelines
• Provides onboarding training for new BAs (based on Lead Business Analyst assignments)
• Organizes and oversees requirement change management process
• Improves business analysis performance by making adjustments on current activities and preventing future issues
• Indicates and reports risks and issues that may have an impact on Business Analysis activities and/or project success
• Measures the quality of business analysis activities
• Creates progress report for analysis activities
• Responds to changes in priorities
• Complies with organizational standards

• Organizes and runs requirements gathering workshops and other interpersonal forms of requirement gathering in the role of either facilitator or negotiator
• Invites relevant stakeholders to requirements elicitation sessions
• Gathers and captures relevant information from stakeholders needed to create requirements
• Performs requirements validation with relevant stakeholders (prepares validation criteria as part of the requirement)
• Assigns priorities to the requirements based on multiple factors, confirms the priorities with stakeholders
• Analyses and structures large amounts of information from different sources
• Creates requirements’ traces from business case to the solution implementation
• Knows appropriate use of different requirements analysis techniques
• Creates various models that describe business and IT domain
• Creates requirements documentation suitable for Dev, QA and other teams needs
• Identifies the factors not related to the requirements that affect the feasibility of solution
• Makes sure that created model and requirements meet the quality guidelines
• Makes sure that requirements create business value, help to achieve business goals and objectives, and meet stakeholders needs
• Acts as a point of contact for requirements related questions
• Collaborates with the Development and QA teams to clarify the requirements
• May participate in preparation of E2E testing scenarios to confirm the implemented solution meets the business needs
• May be involved in testing to identify design and implementation problems using general understanding of business purpose of solution as a whole
• May participate in preparation and execution of end-user trainings
• May be involved in testing to identify design and implementation problems using general understanding of business purpose of solution as a whole

• Acts as a point of contact for requirements related questions
• Collaborates with the Development and QA teams to clarify the requirements

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Possesses the appropriate level of Business Analysis theoretical knowledge and experience, analytical thinking and problem solving
• Possesses knowledge of insurance business principles and practices, industry, organization and solution, i.e. agency licensing, billing, claims, commissions, finance, product/policy, operations, rating or underwriting,, with background either as an analyst/technology employee of an insurance company or as a consultant providing services to insurance companies.
• Understands Agile Software Engineering Process Lifecycle and its relationship to Business Analysis processes
• Understands main Software Engineering and Architecture principles
• Has knowledge of and utilizes general purpose and specialized software applications to support Business
• Analysis processes
• Experience with object, process or data modeling as well as basic knowledge of SQL is a strong plus
• Object-oriented application development or database programming experience is a plus.
• Insurance certification such as CPCU / IIA or similar desired but not required.
• Working knowledge of ACORD standards is a plus but not required
• Working knowledge of Mandarin or Russian is a strong plus
• Possesses knowledge for organizing the team/group work in his/her competence field
• Efficient Blueprint, JIRA, WIKI, MS Office, MS Visio and MS Project user (Blueprint is a Requirements Management platform used by EIS Group)
• Usability and user experience

• Teamwork: to optimize the team/group work, regulates, follows the process and adjusts it if it is necessary (in the work group of 3-5 people)
