Senior Business Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support modernization and enhancement initiatives within a public sector organization. This role focuses on delivering complex technology solutions for correctional services infrastructure and digital transformation projects. The ideal candidate will lead stakeholder consultations, translate business needs into technical specifications, and drive process improvements across multiple government ministries and departments.

This position requires someone who can develop integrated system and technical design specifications, facilitate business process improvement workshops, and gather requirements from diverse stakeholder groups to support enterprise IT implementations. The role encompasses business architecture design, software system specifications, database modelling, and project artifact development using XML, UML and web services technologies. This position will bridge communication between vendors, client ministries, and technical teams while managing project documentation, status reporting, and user training identification throughout all project phases.

Qualifications

• University degree in business, management or related discipline and 4+ years - Technical Business Analyst experience; OR two-year diploma in business, management or related discipline and 6+ years - Technical Business Analyst experience; OR one-year certificate in business, management or related discipline and 7+ years - Technical Business Analyst experience; OR 8+ years - Technical Business Analyst experience
• 3+ years - developing integrated system and technical design specifications on complex engagements
• 4+ years - facilitating and managing business process development and process re-engineering workshops and sessions
• 5+ years - gathering requirements from diverse stakeholder groups across multiple ministries or departments
• 5+ years - translating business requirements into detailed technical requirements in an enterprise IT environment
• 1+ years - working with correctional facility systems related to business processes and requirements gathering

Nice to Have

• 5+ years - adapting to new business environments, performing root-cause analysis, resolving issues, improving processes, delivering work independently, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• 5+ years - coordinating with vendors, managing stakeholder relationships, and facilitating collaboration across business and technical teams to achieve project objectives
• 2+ years - eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, intelligent automation, and data-driven solutions while collaborating with business, product, and technical teams
• 5+ years - developing project documents for a wide variety of initiatives and projects including strategic, business improvement, and information technology initiatives
• 5+ years - leading stakeholder engagement activities including workshops, requirements sessions, governance meetings, steering committees, and executive briefings with senior management, project sponsors, vendors, and cross-functional teams
• 2+ years - working in or for the public sector
• 5+ years - working within an agile development environment
