As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be the link between Buckhill's clients in the London Market and our delivery teams. Working closely with Product Owners, architects and developers, you will turn complex business needs into clear, delivery-ready requirements, and ensure that what we build solves the right problems. You will use data to identify where processes and products can improve, including where AI and automation can add value, and help raise the standard of business analysis across the organisation. This role suits someone who combines analytical rigour with the confidence to challenge assumptions and bring stakeholders to a shared view.

Required skills and qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, analytics, or systems development, preferably within a technology-driven or agile environment.
  • Proven experience in documenting business processes, creating detailed reports, and maintaining accurate, actionable records of requirements and workflows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into meaningful business recommendations.
  • Proven ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels, including senior business and technical leaders, and to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated confidence in working with data-driven decision-making, including the ability to visualise, interpret, and present data insights to non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and identifying opportunities to enhance business processes.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, or similar) used in managing product development and requirements tracking.
  • Hands-on experience using generative AI tools in professional analysis work, with a clear understanding of their limitations.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Desirable skills and qualifications
  • Experience in the London Market, Lloyd's, or the wider insurance sector.
  • Working knowledge of SQL or similar data-querying tools.
  • Experience with process modelling notations, such as BPMN or UML.
  • A recognized business analysis qualification, such as IIBA (CBAP or CCBA) or BCS.
  • Drive awareness of requirements across teams and iuse delivery and operational data to identify process inefficiencies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for business analysis, ensuring technical business processes are aligned across teams.
  • Work closely with Product Owners and cross-functional stakeholders to understand client needs, translate them into actionable requirements, and maintain clear delivery process documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead the collection and analysis of business requirements from stakeholders, translating them into detailed functional specifications and user stories.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops with stakeholders and building consensus on scope.
  • Create comprehensive documentation including but not limited to business requirements, process flows, use cases, and user manuals to guide the development team.
  • Define clear acceptance criteria and support user acceptance testing (UAT) and release readiness.
  • Identify issues, risk mitigation and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outline business impacts.
  • Work closely with architects and developers to ensure solutions align with business requirements, providing insights and recommendations where necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency enhancements, and innovative solutions to optimize business processes.
  • Identify where AI and automation can improve internal and client processes, assessing the business case, risks, and change impact.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate analysis work, such as synthesising workshop outputs, drafting user stories and acceptance criteria, and generating test scenarios, while taking full ownership of the accuracy of the final output.
