Senior Business Analyst - Data Experience

Overview You will join our high-performance team of Business Analysts and act as a senior resource, providing professional advice, managing, and coordinating business and data initiatives across the organisation. You will oversee technical areas within Business Analysis projects using available frameworks and tools, establishing project plans that deliver on-time and on-budget outcomes. This role requires strong business intelligence, reporting, and analytics experience, with a particular focus on Power BI and SAP Business Objects (SAP-BO) . The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with commercial acumen, translating business requirements and complex data into actionable insights that drive meaningful business outcomes and strategic decision-making. Responsibilities Manage and coordinate multiple phases of technical areas within a project and/or multiple small projects of moderate scope and complexity. Map end-to-end business processes and implement solutions for technological and process improvements within the context of overall business operations. Gather business requirements from stakeholders and review existing requirements to produce detailed business requirement specification documents. Run workshops using proven techniques for creating detailed business, functional, and non-functional requirements. Assist and supervise team contribution and communication to ensure complete requirement coverage. Apply standards and methodologies, providing expertise and support on the use of methods and tools. Responsible for needs analysis, task planning, process/data analysis and modelling, and/or logical database design with relational databases. Develop creative and commercially sound solutions to address business requirements and operational challenges. Translate complex datasets into meaningful business insights, recommendations, and measurable business impact. Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports , leveraging Power Query and DAX to deliver scalable and insightful analytics solutions. Develop, deploy, and maintain SAP Business Objects (SAP-BO) reports , including report design, testing, deployment, and promotion across development, test, and production environments. Identify and assess risks to the success of projects and reporting initiatives. Agree project approaches with stakeholders and prepare realistic plans, including quality, risk, and communication plans. Track activities against project schedules and manage stakeholder involvement as appropriate. Handle training and build competency within the practice. Provide guidance and best practices related to business intelligence, reporting, and data analytics solutions. Qualifications Essential Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience. Desirable Management qualification or relevant years of experience. Additional course or certification in Business Analysis. Certification in Power BI, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or related disciplines. Essential skills Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills. Strong commercial and business understanding with the ability to align analytical outputs to business objectives. Ability to develop innovative and practical solutions for business requirements using data-driven approaches. Advanced Power BI skills, including: Dashboard and report development Data modelling Power Query DAX Strong SAP Business Objects (SAP-BO) expertise, including: Report design and development Universe and query understanding Deployment and promotion management across environments Troubleshooting and support Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex datasets. Experience Extensive knowledge of business analysis methodologies and awareness of new and emerging technologies and developments. Strong applications and technology knowledge, building on specialist domain expertise. Proven experience delivering business intelligence and analytics solutions that support operational and strategic decision-making. Demonstrated experience in Power BI dashboard development , including the use of Power Query , DAX , data modelling, and visualization best practices. Mandatory experience with SAP Business Objects (SAP-BO) , including report development, deployment, promotion across environments, and ongoing support. Experience translating business requirements into reporting, analytics, and data visualization solutions. Strong commercial awareness with a proven ability to convert business requirements and data into actionable insights and measurable business value. Proven ability to assure project quality standards by providing guidance and developing procedures related to product and solution quality. Experience using project control solutions for planning, scheduling, and progress tracking.
