Are you an experienced business development professional who knows how to turn relationships into new business?
Aditiser is looking for someone who can build a strong network, create opportunities, and convert the right prospects into long-term clients. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who is comfortable opening doors, speaking with decision-makers and taking ownership of the sales process.
About Aditiser
Aditiser is an Auckland-based paid media agency helping mid-sized and large organisations and agency partners across multiple countries, channels and languages.
For more than a decade, we managed large-scale paid search and paid social activity for a leading global health and wellness retailer, covering hundreds of accounts across more than ten language markets. This experience helped us build strong systems for multi-market delivery, localisation, automation and reporting.
We are now expanding our work with more clients and agency partners and are looking for an experienced business development professional to support our next stage of growth.
About the role
This is a senior individual contributor role focused on winning new clients and growing revenue.
You will build relationships and develop opportunities across New Zealand, while also working remotely with selected prospects and agency partners in Australia and other international markets.
Our specialist partners already manage outbound email activity. Your focus will be relationship-led business development through networking, referrals, events, partnerships and direct conversations with decision makers. You will also help shape how we find and win new clients, working closely with our Head of Commercial Marketing and Business Development.
You will be supported by an experienced delivery team.
Aditiser's services include paid search, paid social, affiliate and influencer marketing support, localisation, automation and reporting, and white-label paid media delivery for agencies.
What you will do
- Build and manage a qualified pipeline across New Zealand, with selected opportunities developed remotely in other markets.
- Open doors and build relationships with senior decision makers through networking, referrals, events, partnerships and direct engagement.
- Qualify prospects and own opportunities from the first conversation through proposal, negotiation and close.
- Help shape our approach to finding new clients, sharing ideas on which markets, partners and types of client to focus on.
- Represent Aditiser at industry events, client meetings and relevant business communities.
- Work with commercial and delivery specialists to develop appropriate solutions, pricing and proposals.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and follow-up while delivering against agreed new-business and revenue targets.
- Support the handover of new clients and share market insights that improve Aditiser's commercial strategy.
What you bring
- A proven record of personally selling and closing digital marketing, media or agency services.
- An established professional network in New Zealand, or strong evidence that you can build one.
- Success generating business in a smaller, hands-on environment without relying on a major brand or ready-made inbound leads.
- Strong consultative selling, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Enough paid media knowledge to hold credible commercial conversations with prospective clients.
- A commercial thinker who can help shape new-business strategy, not only work individual deals.
- An honest and commercially disciplined approach, including the judgement to walk away from work that is not the right fit.
- The ability to work independently, stay organised and collaborate closely with commercial and delivery teams.
- Experience developing business in Australia or other international markets would be helpful but is not essential.
What is in it for you?
- A base salary plus commission or bonus, so your success at winning new business is directly rewarded. We are happy to discuss the details with you.
- A real chance to shape a growing agency. You will join at an important stage and have genuine ownership of new business, rather than being one of many.
- A strong story to sell. More than ten years running paid media for a major global retailer gives you real proof and results to take to market.
- A supportive, expert delivery team behind you, so you can focus on winning clients while the work is delivered to a high standard.
- Hybrid working and an Auckland base, with the flexibility to balance office and remote work.
How to apply
- Please apply with your CV and a short note introducing yourself.
- Tell us about one deal you personally won without relying on a major brand name or ready-made inbound leads. We would like to understand how you found the opportunity, developed the relationship, and moved it through to close.
- Please also include your salary expectations.
Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand and be able to work regularly in Auckland.
Employer questions
Your application will include the following questions:
- Please describe your right to work in New Zealand?
- How many years' experience do you have as a business development manager?
