Senior Business Intelligence Consultant (Power BI)

Join DVT's growing Data & AI Practice as a Senior Business Intelligence Consultant, where you'll help some of South Africa's leading organisations unlock the value of their data through world-class Business Intelligence solutions. In this consulting role, you will design, develop, and deliver enterprise reporting, dashboards, scorecards, and analytics solutions using Power BI , SQL, and modern BI technologies. Working alongside data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders, you'll transform complex data into meaningful insights that drive strategic decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced BI professional who enjoys solving complex business problems, working with modern data platforms, and delivering high-quality solutions across multiple client environments. Minimum Experience 8–10 years' experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Reporting Strong experience developing enterprise solutions using Microsoft Power BI Advanced SQL development skills Experience designing dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting solutions Experience with data modelling and semantic models Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS Exposure to Oracle databases Experience with Qlik Sense/QlikView, Tableau or SAS would be advantageous Experience within Banking, Financial Services or Insurance is highly desirable Exposure to Financial Crime Risk Management, AML, Fraud Detection or Regulatory Reporting would be advantageous Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field Key Responsibilities Design and develop enterprise Power BI dashboards and reports Build scalable reporting and analytics solutions Develop complex SQL queries and optimise reporting performance Translate business requirements into technical BI solutions Create executive dashboards and KPI scorecards Automate reporting processes and improve operational efficiency Ensure data quality, governance, and reporting accuracy Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and data engineering teams Mentor junior BI professionals and contribute to best practices
