What we need We are looking for an Advanced Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Business Intelligence & Analytics team within our Software Engineering organization. Your job will be to design and build the data models, reports, and dashboards that turn complex operational data into actionable insights for our business and our customers. This is a hands-on role centered on modern BI development with tools like Qlik, Tableau, and Power BI on top of large-scale data warehouses. You will partner closely with business stakeholders to deliver analytics solutions while helping migrate our existing data lake to a new cloud platform. What we do The Business Intelligence & Analytics team is part of the Software Engineering organization, which builds the intelligent software platforms that power Symbotic's advanced automation systems. The team builds and maintains the data warehouse and analytics environment that delivers operational metrics, warehouse reporting, and self-service insights across large-scale deployments — while modernizing that platform by migrating our data lake to the cloud. What you'll do Design and build data models based on analytics and reporting requirements, data sources, and mapping specifications. Develop programs and code using advanced analytics tools such as Qlik, Tableau, and Power BI to visualize data and deliver insights from complex transformation and mapping specs. Provide technical thought leadership on BI tools and analytical concepts across analytics, reporting, and dashboard projects. Partner with business stakeholders to deliver system projects, including planning, resource management, and deliverables. Troubleshoot and resolve data and reporting issues using advanced problem-solving techniques. Provide level-of-effort estimates for new project work, enhancements, and fixes. Support the migration of our existing data lake to a new cloud platform. What you'll need Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field. Minimum of 2 years of business intelligence and analytics experience, including interactive dashboards, QlikView, Tableau, NoSQL, and big data. Strong knowledge of data warehousing fundamentals, with hands-on experience designing large databases and data warehouses (logical and physical design) in a team environment. Proven experience across the full BI solution lifecycle analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation using data warehouse/data mart design, ETL, and client/server applications. Experience writing technical and functional design documents (TDD, FSD), test plans, gap analyses, and source-to-target mappings across Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Strong pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills. Preferred qualifications Knowledge of Python, Scala, and open-source data tools. Proficiency with version control tools such as Git, GitLab, and GitHub. Experience with wholesale and/or retail industry systems — procurement, merchandising, financial, warehouse, and retail. Our environment Remote. The base range for this position in the posted location is $101,000.00 - $138,600.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
