Job Overview We are looking for a Senior Citrix Infrastructure Engineer for a Managed Services provider. The role serves as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues, with a primary focus on Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) / Citrix DaaS, supported by strong expertise in VMware virtualization and Cisco UCS compute infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise Citrix environments and be capable of working across interconnected compute and virtualization platforms. This role will also contribute to infrastructure projects, root cause analysis, technical documentation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities: Citrix Infrastructure Management: Administer, troubleshoot, and optimize Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) or Citrix DaaS environments, including Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, NetScaler/ADC, machine catalogs, and Virtual Delivery Agents (VDAs). Senior Technical Escalation: Own and resolve complex Citrix and infrastructure incidents from initial investigation through resolution, documentation, and post-incident review. Citrix Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex VDI, application delivery, user access, performance, connectivity, and VDA-related issues across Citrix environments. Infrastructure Incident Management: Lead the investigation and resolution of critical infrastructure incidents, coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and customer stakeholders as required. VMware Administration: Manage and troubleshoot VMware vCenter and vSphere environments, including ESXi, vMotion, HA/DRS, distributed virtual switches, and virtual machine lifecycle management. Cisco UCS Administration: Support Cisco UCS blade and rack servers, Fabric Interconnects, UCS Manager (UCSM) or Intersight, service profiles, and firmware management. Root Cause Analysis: Conduct detailed root cause analysis for recurring and high-impact infrastructure issues and develop long-term remediation strategies. Infrastructure Projects: Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects, including technical scoping, estimation, solution design, implementation, and validation. Technical Design & Change Management: Validate infrastructure changes, designs, and remediation strategies while ensuring appropriate change management and implementation practices. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support the development of operational best practices. Documentation: Create and maintain architecture documentation, infrastructure diagrams, technical documentation, and operational runbooks. Automation & Optimization: Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and operational efficiencies to improve infrastructure reliability and service delivery. Managed Services Support: Work within a Managed Services environment and participate in customer-facing technical engagements and service delivery activities. Time & Activity Tracking: Accurately track time, incidents, project activities, and related work within the company's time-tracking system. After-Hours Support: Participate in after-hours and weekend coverage as required to support critical infrastructure operations. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. Experience: 6–10 years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure , with strong hands-on experience in Citrix environments. Technical Skills: Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) / Citrix DaaS – Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, NetScaler/ADC, Machine Catalogs, and VDA troubleshooting. VMware vCenter and vSphere – ESXi administration, vMotion, HA/DRS, distributed virtual switches, and VM lifecycle management. Cisco UCS – Blade/rack server administration, Fabric Interconnects, UCS Manager (UCSM) or Intersight, service profiles, and firmware management. Strong troubleshooting skills across complex, multi-system enterprise infrastructure environments. Experience designing and implementing infrastructure solutions. Strong understanding of infrastructure incident management, root cause analysis, change management, and technical documentation. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, technical ownership, decision-making ability, communication skills, collaboration, customer-facing skills, and the ability to mentor junior engineers. Language: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and enterprise voice/unified communications infrastructure. Certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE Data Center, VMware VCP-DCV, Citrix CCP-V , or equivalent cloud infrastructure certifications. Experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment. Exposure to ITIL-based service delivery models . Experience delivering customer-facing IT infrastructure projects. Experience with enterprise storage platforms. Familiarity with Active Directory, Okta, Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco FTD , and backup/disaster recovery solutions. Experience with infrastructure automation and process improvement initiatives. Work-Arrangement: Willingness to work on a US EST/PST-aligned schedule , Monday to Friday, with after-hours and weekend coverage as needed. Ability to work at a computer for extended periods. Stable and fast internet connection suitable for Managed Services operations. Safe, ergonomic, and conducive home workspace.
