Job Description
This is a remote position.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Stormwater Manager to oversee stormwater management planning, design, and compliance for a wide range of civil infrastructure projects. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership ability, and project management skills to deliver sustainable, innovative, and cost-effective stormwater solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of stormwater management systems, including drainage, detention, retention, water quality treatment, and flood mitigation.
- Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including stormwater permits, environmental guidelines, and applicable codes.
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software (e.g., XP-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Civil 3D, AutoCAD).
- Oversee site development stormwater strategies, erosion/sedimentation control, and green infrastructure solutions (e.g., rain gardens, bioswales, permeable pavements).
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and reports to ensure accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil engineers, planners, environmental scientists, contractors, and clients) to deliver integrated solutions.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables while maintaining a high standard of quality and client satisfaction.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Prepare and present technical reports, studies, and proposals to internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in stormwater engineering, water resources, or civil infrastructure design.
- Strong knowledge of hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software and civil design tools.
- Proven track record of managing stormwater design projects from planning through construction.
- Excellent understanding of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
