Senior Claim Specialist - Construction Defect

Overview Amtrust Financial Services, a fast-growing commercial insurance company, is seeking a Senior Claim Specialist within our Construction Defect division. The successful candidate will directly handle Construction related claims. The successful candidate will evaluate coverage issues and risk transfer opportunities as well as ensuring appropriate investigation of the underlying facts and circumstances is carried out, proper experts are retained and utilized where necessary, selection and utilization of counsel is appropriate, and proper negotiation strategy is employed. This position reports to a line of business executive. This role follows a hybrid work model , requiring 4 days per week on‑site and 1 day remote . To support team collaboration and business needs, preference will be given to candidates who can work in a hybrid capacity from one of our approved office locations listed below. Eligible Office Locations Ohio: Cleveland, Seven Hills Texas: Dallas Georgia: Alpharetta Illinois: Chicago Florida: Boca Raton, Maitland Connecticut: Southington California: Concord, Irvine, Woodland Hills New Jersey: Jersey City, Princeton Arizona: Scottsdale New York: New York City, Melville, Latham Utah: South Jordan New Hampshire: Nashua Massachusetts: Boston Kansas: Overland Park Washington: Seattle Missouri: St. Louis Responsibilities Identifying construction defect claim exposures and ensuring timely and accurate reserves Assessing insurance coverage issues and opportunities for risk transfer Ensuring appropriate investigation of the underlying facts and circumstances is carried out, proper experts are retained and utilized where necessary, selection and utilization of counsel is appropriate, proper negotiation strategy is employed. Proficiently communicate claim exposures both internally and externally Primary role in developing effective claims resolution strategies for optimal outcomes Role may involve occasional travel for mediations, trials, and related meetings Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications 3+ years of experience handling Construction Defect commercial liability claims Strong computer skills necessary to navigate our digital claim filing system Possesses a high level of technical claim and legal knowledge and skills. Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities Ability to professionally interact at a high level with parties both internal and external to AmTrust. Easily adapts to changing situations requirements or priorities. Ability to effectively influence others without damaging relationships. Skillful negotiator. Home state adjuster license preferred. CPCU designation/AIC certification preferred. The expected salary range for this role is $89,000-136,000 annually Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
