Senior Cloud Architect

Job Description This is a remote position. We are looking for a Senior Cloud Architect to join our team and lead the design, evolution, and governance of a modern cloud platform supporting mission-critical SaaS solutions. In this role, you will define cloud architecture standards, drive technology decisions, and collaborate with Engineering, Product, Security, and Platform Engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions. You will play a key role in shaping the cloud strategy and ensuring operational excellence across distributed systems and AI-enabled workloads. The role combines cloud architecture, platform engineering, security, and technical leadership, with a strong focus on Azure and cloud-native technologies. Responsibilities: Design and evolve the cloud platform architecture, including: Landing zones Networking IAM Governance Define cloud strategies and architectural standards for: Serverless workloads Container-based applications Batch processing solutions Design resilient, highly available cloud architectures, including: Multi-region deployments Disaster recovery strategies Zero-downtime deployment approaches Define and govern multi-tenant cloud architectures and isolation models Lead capacity planning, scalability, and performance optimization initiatives Design cloud security architectures aligned with enterprise security standards Define infrastructure requirements for AI-enabled workloads, including: AI gateways LLM routing Agent execution infrastructure Vector stores AI observability Establish Infrastructure-as-Code standards and reusable cloud patterns Deliver cloud architecture workshops and design sessions Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, and Platform Engineering teams on the technology roadmap Requirements 5+ years of experience in Cloud Architecture roles Strong experience with: Azure (primary focus) AWS Deep knowledge of: Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) Azure Container Apps Azure Service Bus Azure Event Hub Azure API Management Microsoft Entra ID Proven experience operating production cloud platforms, including: Governance Observability SLOs/SLIs Resilience and disaster recovery Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns: Twelve-Factor Applications CQRS Saga Sidecar Distributed Systems Design Multi-tenant Architectures Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform Bicep Strong cloud security knowledge, including: Zero Trust RBAC Private Endpoints Azure Key Vault Knowledge of AI infrastructure and platform requirements: AI gateways Vector stores Agent execution frameworks AI observability AI cost governance Experience with Generative AI and modern AI engineering workflows Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences Fluency in English Nice-to-have Experience designing AI-native or GenAI-enabled platforms Experience contributing to Architecture Communities of Practice Experience delivering cloud architecture workshops and technical mentoring Knowledge of payroll, ERP, or large-scale enterprise SaaS platforms Microsoft Azure certifications in Architecture, Cloud, or Security domains If this sounds like you, share your CV with us and let’s talk!
