The Opportunity

Due to a retirement, we're seeking a Senior Commercial Business Partner to support our high-performing BlueScope Building Components QLD & NT business, based in Archerfield, QLD.

This is a high-impact leadership role, sitting on both the National Commercial Leadership Team and the QLD & NT State Business Leadership Team. Partnering closely with senior leaders across the business, you'll provide trusted commercial insight, strategic guidance and performance advice that helps shape business decisions and drive sustainable investment and growth.

What You Will Do

  • maximise commercial performance: partner with the State Manager and leadership team to develop and implement strategies that enhance EBIT, optimise the balance sheet and support delivery of business objectives

  • work across organisational boundaries: build collaborative relationships across sales, operations, finance and other functions to develop a strong understanding of the end-to-end business

  • deliver business improvement: identify, prioritise and progress a pipeline of significant improvement initiatives aligned with strategic objectives

  • champion change and innovation: monitor the internal and external environment to identify better ways of working, improvement opportunities and relevant new technologies

  • translate insight into action: connect financial, commercial and operational information to help the business improve performance and achieve sustainable outcomes

What You Bring

  • a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline

  • extensive finance and commercial experience within a complex business

  • the ability to understand performance beyond the financial data and identify the operational and commercial factors shaping business results
