At Allens, our business teams are also specialists in their field, using their unique knowledge and expertise to solve critical client and business challenges.
You'll be a part of our Commercial Management team, working closely with practice group leaders, partners and senior stakeholders across the firm. This is an opportunity to play a broad role in shaping the commercial performance and strategic direction of one of Australia's leading professional services firms, combining commercial judgement, financial insight and strategic thinking to influence important decisions and drive change.
As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will:
- Work with senior leaders to identify opportunities to enhance the financial performance and commercial viability of priority practice groups.
- Use your knowledge of the firm, industry and market to develop commercial solutions and support practice group leaders to drive change that improves client experience and financial outcomes.
- Act as a trusted adviser to Practice Group Leaders and Partners, bringing commercial judgement, constructive challenge and financial insight to strategic and operational decision-making.
- Lead complex, firm-wide strategic projects, working cross-functionally and applying commercial, financial and analytical expertise to shape decisions and drive implementation.
- Work with senior leaders to assess opportunities and develop compelling business cases for strategic investments and initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to use data, technology and commercial insight to improve decision-making and business performance.
- Lead, mentor and coach team members, including commercial analysts, to build capability and deliver strong outcomes across the firm.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. At Allens we have a hybrid working structure, typically 60% in the office and 40% from home. We would be happy to discuss any other flexible working arrangements that best support you.
About you
You will have:
- Deep experience in commercial finance, FP&A, consulting or another commercially focussed analytical role, which may include transaction services, restructuring or similar experience, ideally gained in professional services or another complex stakeholder environment.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability and the confidence to translate financial and market insight into practical advice for senior stakeholders.
- Experience leading or playing a key role in strategic projects, with the ability to bring structure, commercial thinking and momentum to complex initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with partners, practice leaders and Corporate Services teams.
- A track record of leading, coaching or developing others, with the ability to build capability through both direct and indirect leadership.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a desire to learn, grow, collaborate and mentor others.
- Prior training at a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting/consulting firm would be advantageous.
- CA/CPA or equivalent is desirable.
