Senior Construction Project Manager

Overview

The Senior Project Manager, Construction is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of new store construction and remodel projects across an assigned portfolio of Sprouts Farmers Market locations. Serving as the primary owner of project scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, risk management, and store opening readiness, this role independently manages multiple complex projects while partnering with cross-functional teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery. The Senior Project Manager exercises significant independent judgment, provides executive-level project oversight and reporting, and drives business results through effective project leadership, financial stewardship, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

This is a remote/field position; preferred location in NJ, VA or PA

Essential Functions

• Lead the planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of new store construction and remodel projects from preconstruction through store opening
• Develop and manage project budgets, cost estimates, forecasts, and financial performance to ensure capital budget compliance
• Review construction documents, specifications, and submittals to ensure alignment with Sprouts standards and operational requirements
• Participate in contractor bidding, evaluation, selection, and contract administration activities
• Manage a portfolio of multiple concurrent construction projects, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
• Monitor project progress, conduct site visits, and proactively identify and resolve risks, issues, and schedule impacts
• Coordinate owner-furnished equipment procurement, delivery, and installation to support successful project execution
• Review, negotiate, and manage change orders while providing cost reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, vendors, and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Provide project status updates, financial reporting, risk assessments, and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders
• Oversee project closeout activities, including punch-list completion, financial reconciliation, documentation, turnover, and store opening readiness
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, value engineering efforts, and construction best practices to enhance project delivery, efficiency, and scalability

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 7 years of retail or commercial construction project management experience
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and contractor management skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Preferred Qualifications
• Grocery or food retail construction experience
• Refrigeration, HVAC, and complex mechanical systems knowledge
• Experience with Procore, Sitetracker, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Project
• Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or LEED
