Location: Chennai (Hybrid)

Job Summary:

• We are looking for an experienced SQL Server & SSIS Technical Manager with 10 - 15 years of experience in database development, data integration, ETL solutions, and team management.
• The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in SQL Server, SSIS, database performance tuning, data migration, and production support, along with proven experience managing end-to-end delivery teams. The role requires technical leadership, stakeholder management, solution design, and ownership of delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities:-

Technical Leadership

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-scale SQL Server databases and ETL solutions.
• Architect and implement robust data integration solutions using SSIS.
• Drive database optimization, query tuning, indexing strategies, and performance improvements.
• Lead data migration and modernization initiatives across multiple platforms.
• Review and approve technical designs, code reviews, and deployment plans.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and best practices.

Delivery & Project Management

• Manage end-to-end delivery of SQL and ETL projects.
• Own project planning, estimation, resource allocation, and execution.
• Track project milestones, risks, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
• Ensure timely releases with high quality and minimal production issues.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, Business Analysts, and Engineering teams.

Team Management

• Manage a team of SQL Developers, SSIS Developers, and Database Engineers.
• Mentor and guide team members on technical and functional aspects.
• Conduct performance reviews, career development discussions, and skill enhancement initiatives.
• Drive team productivity, utilization, and engineering excellence.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and competency development activities.

Production Support & Governance

• Provide leadership during critical production incidents.
• Drive root cause analysis and preventive action plans.
• Monitor database health, availability, and performance.
• Establish operational dashboards, KPIs, and SLA adherence.
• Ensure backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and data security compliance.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Present project updates, risks, and delivery status to senior leadership.
• Manage customer expectations and ensure high stakeholder satisfaction.

Required Skills:-

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2012/2016/2019/2022).
• Extensive experience in SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services).
• Expert in SQL programming, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views, and Indexing.
• Strong experience in query optimization and performance tuning.
• Experience with ETL design, data warehousing concepts, and data migration.
• Knowledge of SQL Server Agent, Replication, Backup & Recovery.
• Experience with Azure Data Services is a plus.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Leadership Skills

• End-to-end team management experience.
• Strong stakeholder and client management skills.
• Experience leading distributed teams across multiple locations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Microsoft SQL Server certifications preferred.
• Experience in Insurance, Financial Services, Healthcare, or Enterprise applications is an added advantage.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
