Senior Consultant, Water and Wastewater Treatment

Join our Global Advanced Water Treatment department as a Senior Consultant and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future. Your new role As a Senior Consultant, you will have the opportunity to use your skills on projects in The Netherlands, the UK, Nordics, Germany and internationally. You will provide technical and advisory support to help our public and industrial clients solve their water and wastewater challenges. The role is suited to an individual with relevant experience combining client consulting, project management and project delivery capability together with a business development and sales mindset and capability, enabling contributions to project delivery, technical studies, and client-facing work. Your key responsibilities will include: Lead or contribute to the delivery of water projects for our utility and industrial clients, working closely together with partners, sub-contractors and stakeholders. Contribute to regional business development and client-facing activities to develop Ramboll’s public market and industrial project portfolio Lead proposal development and provide project management and technical inputs to proposals and bid documentation Integrate with the global water sector teams for business development, pursuits and project execution Contribute to global projects, thought leadership and marketing efforts Providing technical, process and wider water solutions expertise to municipal and industrial sector projects. Contribute to feasibility studies and options appraisals, process selection and treatment train development and design activities, construction and commissioning support. Interface with technology suppliers and contractors to support design and delivery. Your new team You will be part of our Global Advanced Water Treatment department, that works with leading utilities and industries worldwide. Current projects include the development of a new innovative full-scale demonstration plant for drinking water production in the Netherlands, various water treatment consulting projects for UK water companies and industrial users and the development of a bank filtration water treatment works in Germany. We work with technology providers and universities to stay at the leading edge, with a strong reputation for technical excellence. You will be based in the Ramboll Netherlands office in Rotterdam, travelling to other offices or client sites in the region as required. We are highly networked within the Ramboll organization, collaborating closely with colleagues working on areas such as the energy transition, micropollutant removal and circularity goals. You will be eager to develop strong relationships with our clients, contribute to a range of projects both locally and internationally, and actively support the growth of our water treatment business globally. Whilst we look forward to supporting your continued learning and development, for this role we have identified some qualifications, skills, and capabilities that will set you up for success. These include the following: Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or other relevant qualifications and experience. Typically 10+ years’ experience in water and/or wastewater sector within a consultancy, utility, industrial, or technology provider environment. Experience in a client facing role, project management role and in the delivery and support of technical assignments and producing high-quality outputs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English. Desirable Master’s Degree, chartered status or working towards chartership. Greater than 5 years within consultancy roles Experience across both municipal and industrial water applications. Experience with building brand recognition, thought leadership and a regional market position Working knowledge of the European water industry regulations, standards, and permitting requirements.
