The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships.

We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease and climate and health.

These challenges need the bold science we support, but they won't be solved by science alone.

Where in Wellcome will I be working?

You will be working within the Communications team in Corporate Affairs, reporting to the Content Lead.

The Communications team helps Wellcome connect audiences with the ideas, evidence, people and partnerships that drive progress in health research. Through compelling storytelling and audience-focused communications, the team develops content and campaigns that support Wellcome's strategic priorities, builds engagement with key audiences, and strengthens Wellcome's influence across science, health and research.

Working closely with colleagues across Wellcome, the team creates content that helps audiences understand complex issues and discoveries, translating them into clear, accessible and engaging communications across digital channels.

What will I be doing?

As a Senior Content & Social Media Producer, you will lead the planning, creation, commissioning and optimisation of digital content that supports Wellcome's strategic priorities across health, science and research. You will play a key role in strengthening Wellcome's digital communications capability, championing best practice in content production, visual storytelling, social media, accessibility and audience engagement. Working collaboratively across Wellcome, you will help ensure content reaches the right audiences and delivers measurable impact.

As a Senior Content & Social Media Producer, you will:

  • Lead the planning, creation and commissioning of digital content and campaigns that support Wellcome's strategic priorities.
  • Translate complex scientific, research and policy topics into accessible, engaging and audience-centred storytelling.

  • Develop content distribution and audience engagement strategies, working across paid, owned and partner channels to maximise reach and impact.
  • Use audience insights, analytics and performance data to optimise content and inform future communications activity.
  • Champion best practice in digital content, social media and storytelling, sharing expertise and developing capability across the organisation.
  • Build and manage relationships with agencies, freelancers, creators and external partners to deliver high-quality content.
  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments.
