Love What You Do and Why You Do It!

Since 1987, Participate Learning has partnered with schools and districts to prepare students for career success through cultural exchange, dual language programs, and global learning. We help students build bilingual fluency, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to apply their learning in real-world settings and any career path. We offer purpose-driven, challenging work in a collaborative environment, a flexible and open culture, and encourage employees to pursue their professional and personal passions.

What You’ll Do:

The Senior Content Writer & Strategist, K–12 Education is a writer-first role responsible for helping Participate Learning find the clearest, most compelling language for complex ideas in education. This person will write blogs, newsletters, case studies, thought leadership, website content, campaign content, and other materials that help educators and school and district leaders understand Participate Learning’s work and the ideas behind it.

We are looking for someone who genuinely loves writing, cares deeply about words, meaning, structure, tone, and nuance, and is energized by refining language through thoughtful feedback and discussion.

Equally important, this person must bring deep knowledge of K–12 education. They should understand schools, educators, and district leaders well enough to recognize when language feels credible and authentic.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer, deep thinker, and empathetic communicator who can connect complex ideas across education, research, product strategy, and audience needs.

Key Responsibilities

Writing and Editorial Development

  • Write high-quality blogs, newsletters, case studies, thought leadership, website content, campaign content, and other long- and short-form materials.
  • Translate complex education concepts, research, product information, and school stories into clear, engaging content.
  • Interview educators, school and district leaders, internal experts, and partners to uncover insights and stories worth sharing.
  • Write for audiences ranging from teachers to district leaders, adapting tone, framing, and depth while maintaining Participate Learning’s voice.
  • Revise thoughtfully, using feedback to continually strengthen your writing, speed, and editorial judgment.

Editorial Strategy and Content Planning

  • Help shape and manage the editorial calendar, and align it with organizational priorities.
  • Take ownership of Participate Learning’s blog as a useful, relevant destination for educators and education leaders.
  • Identify opportunities to revisit, strengthen, and repurpose existing content.
  • Lead editorial development of recurring communications, including product emails and organization-wide new updates.
  • Work with marketing colleagues to apply search and digital content best practices as needed.

K–12 Expertise and Subject-Matter Learning

  • Write from the audience’s point of view, starting with what educators and school leaders genuinely care about.
  • Apply firsthand understanding of teaching, student needs, educator workload, school priorities, families, staffing, and accountability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Product, Research and Evaluation, Implementation, Partnerships, and Marketing teams to develop accurate and compelling content.
  • Partner with social media, design, paid media, sales enablement, and other marketing functions to adapt core content for different channels and campaigns.
  • Contribute strong editorial judgment during collaborative reviews and help teams identify the clearest and most audience-centered way to communicate an idea.
  • Manage multiple writing projects and deadlines while maintaining a consistently high standard of quality.
