About Mortgageway

Mortgageway is an Australian mortgage manager providing residential and commercial lending solutions across Australia. We are looking for an experienced Senior Credit Assessor to join our growing credit team and support the assessment of residential and commercial mortgage applications.

About the Role

You will work closely with our Australian credit and lending teams to assess loan applications, review supporting documents and provide clear, commercially sound credit recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess residential mortgage applications in line with lending policies and credit guidelines
• Review income, liabilities, living expenses, credit history and supporting documents
• Complete serviceability, loan-to-value ratio and risk assessments
• Identify credit risks, inconsistencies and outstanding information
• Prepare clear credit assessment notes and recommendations
• Liaise with brokers, lending support staff and internal stakeholders
• Manage multiple applications while maintaining accuracy and turnaround times
• Support continuous improvement of credit processes and assessment standards

About You

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in mortgage credit assessment, underwriting or a similar lending role
• Experience with Australian residential mortgage lending is highly regarded
• Strong understanding of credit risk, serviceability and loan documentation
• High level of attention to detail and sound commercial judgement
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently and manage competing priorities in a remote environment
