This team exists to find the threats most significant to a national level and turn that understanding into action. Your work will directly shape new detections, blocks and changes to security posture.
You will be a senior voice in the team, briefing executives on the threat landscape and building relationships with government agencies and the security research community in Canberra.
This role is paying up to $175,000 + Bonuses and has a hybrid working arrangement in Canberra CBD.
What you’ll do:
- Identify, track and research the threat actors and campaigns most relevant to the organisation; their TTPs, tooling and infrastructure
- Turn research into actionable intelligence that drives detection content, blocking and posture changes
- Brief senior leadership and executives on threats, turning technical detail into clear, risk focused messaging
- Produce written intelligence products for technical and non technical audiences
- Provide threat intelligence support to incident response investigations
- Build trusted relationships with government agencies and security researchers; sharing intelligence and tradecraft
- Write quick scripts to automate repetitive collection, enrichment and analysis tasks
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team research and capability uplift
What you’ll bring
- Five or more years in cyber threat intelligence, or a closely related role with a strong intelligence focus such as threat hunting or incident response or blue teaming
- Deep knowledge of adversary tradecraft, attack techniques and the geopolitical drivers behind them
- Working knowledge of intelligence frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and the Diamond Model
- Excellent written and verbal communication; confident presenting to senior leadership
- Scripting ability in Python or similar to automate tasks; you do not need to be a developer
- Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain an NV2 clearance
