🚀 We are hiring: Senior Data Engineer (GCP & BigQuery) (Hybrid - Bucharest) | Luxoft
Are you a Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in GCP, SQL/BigQuery, Python, and PySpark? We are looking for a key team member to join our Development Center in Bucharest and work on high-impact data projects for a global client!
You will design and deliver batch & real-time ETL/ELT pipelines, build performant BigQuery data models, and optimize cloud-native data platforms powering advanced analytics and business decisions.
💼 Key Responsibilities:
- Scalable Data Pipelines: Design, build, and optimize batch and real-time ETL/ELT pipelines across cloud environments.
- GCP & BigQuery Solutions: Write advanced SQL transformations and construct cost-efficient, performant BigQuery data models.
- Python & Distributed Processing: Implement high-quality data processing workflows using Python and PySpark.
- Cloud Platform Operations: Utilize core GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Pub/Sub, GCS) to operate modern data architectures.
- Engineering Standards: Drive quality through CI/CD, code reviews, automated testing, and continuous pipeline performance optimization.
🎯 What we are looking for:
- Experience: 5+ years of Data Engineering experience building scalable cloud-native pipelines.
- GCP & Data Warehousing: Strong expertise in SQL, BigQuery (or equivalent cloud data warehouses), and GCP ecosystem tools (Dataflow, Cloud Composer, GCS).
- Python & PySpark: Proven hands-on experience with Python and PySpark in distributed environments.
- Data Modeling: Solid understanding of ELT/ETL patterns, data modeling, and data validation best practices.
- DevOps Practices: Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Chef).
- Shell scripting knowledge.
- Domain background in financial services or regulated environments.
