Senior Data Engineer

For one of our clients in the financial services sector, we are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join a high-performing data and analytics team. You will work on modern data platforms, large-scale datasets, and business-critical analytics solutions within a dynamic trading environment.

Location: Zurich / Remote (within Switzerland only)

Start: 01.10.2026

Duration: 12 months (extension possible)

Workload: 100%

Tasks

• Design, develop and optimize scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions

• Analyze large and complex datasets to generate actionable business insights

• Develop reporting and data analytics capabilities using modern technologies

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams

• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across multiple sources

• Support strategic data initiatives within a trading and financial markets environment

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of data platforms and analytical processes

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst in complex enterprise environments

• Strong hands-on expertise with Python and SQL

• Practical experience with Apache Spark, PySpark and/or Spark Streaming

• Experience working with Databricks

• Strong understanding of data modelling, data processing, and large-scale analytics

• Experience within Trading, Capital Markets, Structured Products, or Investment Banking is a strong advantage

• Fluent English communication skills
