Senior Data Modeller / Business Data Analyst – Markets Data

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Salary: Not a constraint for the right candidate!

Experience: 8-10 years.

Your Profile & DNA:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Modeller / Business Data Analyst with strong expertise in Financial Markets Data, Data Modelling, SQL, Business Analysis, and Data Governance within the banking sector.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Create and maintain comprehensive data models for Markets data.
• Map data attributes, relationships, and data flows across systems.
• Design and optimize data structures and databases in collaboration with IT Architects.
• Work with DevOps and engineering teams to define data platform requirements.
• Validate data models and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and delivery teams to translate requirements into actionable backlog items.
• Maintain documentation covering data models, lineage, metadata, mappings, and data flows.
• Act as a Markets Data SME for data sourcing, integration, distribution, and utilization.
• Support data governance and data quality initiatives.
• Analyse complex data requirements and translate them into practical data solutions.

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• Strong experience in Conceptual, Logical & Physical Data Modelling
• Proven Banking experience
• Strong Financial Markets / Markets Data domain knowledge
• Good understanding of financial market products and processes
• Strong SQL skills
• Experience with Data Governance
• Data mapping, data lineage, and metadata management
• Experience with ERwin, Enterprise Architect, or equivalent tools
• Business analysis and requirements gathering
• Experience translating requirements into Product Backlog Items
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
