Senior Database & Analytics Developer – 5-Month Contract

Rate: £36.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 5-Month Contract

Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Database & Analytics Developer to join a Local Authority's Software Development Team. This role is ideal for a professional with extensive expertise in The Access Group Children's Services Mosaic data model, focusing on data extraction, reporting, business intelligence, and analytics development. The successful candidate will independently deliver expert technical insights that the current team lacks. Responsibilities include designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting reporting solutions and analytics using Mosaic data, while also contributing to broader database and business intelligence projects. Please note that this position requires candidates to be based in the UK due to system and server access constraints.
Key Responsibilities
Mosaic Data & Reporting
- Serve as the expert on The Access Group Children's Services Mosaic data model.
- Create and develop complex reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions using Mosaic data.
- Analyze and interpret intricate data requirements from Children's Services and stakeholders.
- Develop reporting datasets and business intelligence solutions to aid operational and strategic decisions.
- Independently identify, extract, transform, and present data from Mosaic and related systems.
Database & Analytics Development
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain corporate database solutions.
- Create complex data integrations and automated data flows.
- Support business intelligence and performance reporting initiatives.
- Design and maintain reporting structures, data warehouses, and analytics environments.
- Provide technical expertise in SQL Server, Oracle databases, and other database platforms.
Business Intelligence
- Develop and support reporting and business intelligence solutions.
- Ensure access to accurate management information and performance reporting.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Enhance data quality, accessibility, and reporting efficiency.
Technical Support & Improvement
- Troubleshoot issues related to reporting, databases, and analytics.
- Offer technical guidance and support to end users and stakeholders.
- Produce technical documentation, guidance, and support materials.
- Recommend improvements to data storage, reporting processes, and analytics capabilities.
- Support corporate data governance and information management activities.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with service managers, analysts, developers, and operational teams.
- Coordinate with third-party suppliers as needed.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Assist users in understanding reporting outputs and business intelligence tools.

- Strong SQL development skills.
