Senior DevOps Engineer

Role Purpose

The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for building, maintaining and improving the cloud infrastructure and automation that power Staq’s BaaS platform. This role focuses on stability, security and seamless deployments across all environments. You will work closely with Technology to ensure our systems run smoothly, incidents are resolved quickly and our infrastructure continues to evolve as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform/Terragrunt on AWS or OCI
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bash/Groovy, Docker, GitHub and Helm
• Configure and support Kubernetes clusters to ensure performance, availability and scalability
• Enhance monitoring, logging, alerting and tracing with tools like Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Thanos, Elasticsearch and Jaeger
• Support and automate application deployments for Node.js, Java and other services
• Improve security, reliability and operational workflows across environments
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking and deployment issues
• Maintain clear DevOps documentation and internal best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
• Strong Linux administration experience
• Deep experience with Kubernetes, Docker and container orchestration
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, VPC, Load Balancers, RDS) or OCI
• Proficiency with Terraform/Terragrunt and Infrastructure-as-Code workflows
• Experience with Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines and automation scripting
• Understanding of web servers and reverse proxies (Nginx, HAProxy)
• Experience deploying and supporting Node.js or Java applications.

What Would Make Someone Excellent in This Role

• Experience securing and scaling Kubernetes clusters in production
• Experience in fintech, payments or other high-scale, regulated environments
• Familiarity with Vault, Kafka, Keycloak, Nexus or Elasticsearch.
