Senior DevOps Engineer

For ING Bank we are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their Platform Engineering team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will take ownership of the DevOps platform, with a strong focus on automation, Linux (RHEL), reliability, observability, and security.

What will you do?

• Own and manage the DevOps platform and automate operational processes using Ansible, Python, and Shell
• Manage and improve Linux (RHEL) platform operations, including performance, stability, patching, and security
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub
• Improve monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry (OTEL), and ELK Stack
• Analyse incidents, logs, metrics, and traces to identify root causes and prevent recurring issues
• Support High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and platform lifecycle management
• Work closely with Technical Product Owners, engineers, and stakeholders within an Agile/Scrum environment

Work environment

You will work within a collaborative Agile/Scrum team at ING Bank's Cedar office in Amsterdam. The role offers hybrid flexibility, allowing you to work from home or the office. You will collaborate closely with platform engineers, application teams, and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and automation across the infrastructure.

Please note: This position is only open to candidates who are currently based in the Netherlands.

What do you bring?

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible
• Strong Linux/RHEL administration and production support experience
• Experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Pipelines
• Experience with production monitoring, logging, tracing, and observability
• Automation skills using Python and Shell scripting
• Experience with technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, VMware, OpenShift, or OpenStack
• Advanced English proficiency and strong communication skills

Experience with SonarQube, Checkmarx, Oracle, Spring Boot, TIBCO EMS/MQ, IBM WebSphere, IT Risk/Security, or RHEL certification is a plus.

• A contract until 31 August 2027, with the possibility of extension

• A salary range of €4,596.95 – €5,892.02 gross per month, based on 36 hours per week and depending on experience
