Your job
The Senior Digital Analytics Engineer on Glassdoor's Digital Analytics team owns the behavioral data layer: how user interactions across Glassdoor's web and app experiences are defined, collected, routed, and made trustworthy for product, marketing, and analytics teams. This is a technical role spanning event instrumentation, customer data infrastructure, and analytics tooling. You'll design tracking plans and event schemas, manage client- and server-side data collection through tag management and RudderStack, and make sure event data lands accurately in Amplitude, Snowflake, and downstream marketing destinations. On a small team, you'll own work end to end, from partnering with engineers on instrumentation to validating data in production and helping stakeholders use it. This work directly contributes to our mission of helping people get jobs by giving teams reliable insight into how job seekers and employers use Glassdoor.
Who you are
Designing and maintaining tracking plans, event taxonomies, and governance standards (naming conventions, property schemas, validation rules) for product and marketing analytics across web and mobile
Implementing and managing client- and server-side data collection through tag management (e.g., Google Tag Manager) and RudderStack, including SDK configuration, transformations, and destination routing for millions of events per day
Leading the shift of marketing measurement from browser pixels to server-side, CDP-based event delivery, balancing measurement accuracy, site performance, and consent requirements; owning intake and governance for tag requests
Administering and optimizing Amplitude, including taxonomy governance, identity resolution, experimentation, session replay, and heatmapping, to support self-serve analytics
Building and maintaining SQL-based transformations and integrations that connect behavioral data across RudderStack, Amplitude, Snowflake, and marketing platforms
Monitoring event data quality through automated validation, alerting, and QA; diagnosing tracking breaks, identity mismatches, and cross-tool discrepancies
Partnering with product engineering, marketing, analytics, privacy, and vendors to scope instrumentation, review implementations, evaluate technologies, and meet privacy and consent standards
Leading continuous improvements in instrumentation standards, tooling, documentation, and AI-assisted development practices, and providing training and consulting for teams that use event data
Who we are
Requires a Bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience; or a PhD without experience
Experience using AI-powered development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) to speed up code development, debugging, and documentation
Solid SQL skills and experience with cloud data warehouses
Direct experience with customer data platforms or event collection tools (RudderStack, Segment, mParticle, or similar)
Deep experience implementing and governing product analytics platforms (Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar), including taxonomy design and user identity management
Expertise with tag management systems (Google Tag Manager, Tealium, or similar), plus working knowledge of JavaScript and browser-level debugging (dev tools, network inspection)
Familiarity with marketing measurement (conversion APIs, attribution, pixel-based tracking) and consent management and privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA Proficiency in Python or JavaScript for automation, transformations, and API integrations
Experience improving data quality, reliability, and performance through automation and engineering best practices
