IonQ is making quantum platforms more accessible and impactful than ever before. Location: This role will be based at our office in Oxford, England, UK or can be remote within EMEA. Travel: Up to 40% per quarter, depending on seasonal priorities. Job ID: 1500 The Role: The Senior Director, Field Marketing EMEA will build and lead IonQ’s field marketing capability across EMEA, partnering closely with the wider Sales and Go-to-Market organisation to drive pipeline, accelerate strategic opportunities and strengthen customer engagement. This is a new M6 leadership role and a key appointment as IonQ continues to expand its commercial presence across the region. This is a builder and operator role. The successful candidate will develop the EMEA marketing motion from the ground up, translating commercial priorities into high-impact campaigns, events, account-based marketing and executive engagement programmes. The focus is firmly on creating demand and measurable commercial impact, rather than owning broader corporate marketing functions. Responsibilities: Build and execute the EMEA field marketing strategy, partnering closely with Sales and Go-to-Market teams to generate pipeline, accelerate strategic deals and increase engagement across priority accounts and markets. Lead regional campaigns, account based marketing, strategic events and executive engagement programmes, ensuring activity is relevant to local markets and connected to commercial priorities. Build and lead a high performing field marketing organisation across EMEA, establishing the operating cadence, priorities and capabilities required as the region scales. Use data, pipeline performance and campaign ROI to inform planning, investment and prioritisation, creating clear accountability for marketing impact. Partner across Sales, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Events and the wider Marketing organisation while remaining focused on the EMEA commercial agenda. Requirements: 15+ years of marketing leadership experience in high-growth enterprise technology or emerging technology companies Proven track record leading regional and/or international marketing teams across complex, multi-country markets Deep experience supporting enterprise and strategic sales motions, including long sales cycles and multi-stakeholder buying groups Demonstrated success partnering with enterprise sales organizations to drive pipeline, revenue growth, and strategic account engagement Exceptional storyteller who can balance technical credibility with executive-level clarity Proven track record in similar roles within the Americas region is strongly preferred Experience operating in matrixed global organizations, influencing without authority Comfortable navigating cultural nuance, regulatory complexity, and varied market maturity levels Deep experience with account-based marketing, regional campaigns, executive engagement, and strategic events Comfortable balancing global strategy with hands-on regional execution Data-driven decision maker with a bias toward measurable impact Compensation will vary based on individual factors such as education, qualifications, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location, and calibration against relevant market data and internal team equity. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available.
