What you'll be doing
The People, Culture and Talent team helps shape the experiences that support our people, our culture, and our workplace so we can help make our clients’ ambitions a reality. As a Senior Director, Indigenous Relations & Reconciliation, you’ll lead CIBC’s enterprise strategy for Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, ensuring it aligns with our inclusion priorities, Truth and Reconciliation commitments, and broader business objectives. You’ll guide the development of multi-year plans, annual priorities, and measurable outcomes that strengthen Indigenous representation, talent development, cultural competency, and community relationships across the bank. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, Human Resources partners, and business stakeholders to embed Indigenous inclusion and reconciliation priorities into workforce strategies, talent practices, and business planning. You’ll also represent CIBC in internal and external forums, helping build meaningful partnerships and advance our commitments with credibility, accountability, and care.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you'll succeed
- Strategy leadership - Lead the development and ongoing evolution of CIBC’s enterprise Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation strategy, including the roadmap, annual priorities, implementation plans, and success measures.
- Enterprise execution - Drive the execution of Indigenous inclusion and reconciliation initiatives across strategic business units, lines of business, and corporate functions to support consistent delivery, accountability, and integration into business and talent practices.
- Strategic advisory - Influence senior leaders, Human Resources partners, and business stakeholders to embed Indigenous inclusion and reconciliation priorities into business plans, workforce strategies, talent management, succession planning, and change initiatives.
- Partnership building - Partner with Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning and Development, Human Resources Business Partners, Indigenous employees, advisory groups, People Networks, community representatives, and external organizations to shape solutions informed by Indigenous perspectives.
- Governance and reporting - Direct data collection, performance measurement, benchmarking, governance reporting, and audit readiness to assess outcomes, support external commitments such as Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR), and continuously improve strategy and delivery.
- People leadership - Lead and develop a high-performing team, creating an inclusive environment that inspires collaboration, accountability, and meaningful impact.
Who you are

- You give meaning to data. You’re comfortable using insights, benchmarking, and performance measures to assess progress, inform recommendations, and strengthen enterprise decision-making.
