Refugee Women's Alliance (ReWA) is hiring a Senior Director of Advancement in Seattle, WA to lead the organization's fundraising, communications, marketing, volunteer engagement, and community outreach efforts. Key Details: Pay: $140,000-$180,000 annually DOE Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, LTD, 403(b), PTO, paid holidays, and more Location: Hybrid within the Seattle area. While the primary administrative offices are located in Seattle, candidates may work from one of ReWA's office locations with regular travel between sites as needed. Schedule: Full time, exempt position (37.5 hour standard workweek) with flexibility for occasional evening and weekend events, donor functions, and board meetings. As the organization continues to grow and evolve, the Senior Director of Advancement will play a critical role in building long term fundraising, engagement, and visibility strategies that strengthen ReWA's impact for years to come. As the Senior Director of Advancement, you'll have the opportunity to: Build and execute a comprehensive advancement strategy Expand major donor and individual giving programs Strengthen ReWA's brand, messaging, and community visibility Partner closely with executive leadership and the Board Lead multiple external facing functions under one strategic vision Expand and diversify revenue streams that support ReWA’s mission and future growth What You'll Do: As Senior Director of Advancement, you'll provide executive leadership and strategic oversight for ReWA's advancement efforts, including fundraising, communications, marketing, volunteer engagement, and community outreach. Responsibilities include: Advancement Strategy & Fundraising Leadership Develop and implement a comprehensive advancement strategy aligned with organizational goals Lead efforts to grow unrestricted revenue and diversify funding sources Expand major donor, individual giving, corporate sponsorship, and philanthropic partnerships Identify new opportunities to increase community investment in ReWA's mission Establish measurable fundraising goals, performance metrics, and accountability systems Partner with the Executive Director on high level donor cultivation and stewardship efforts Support and strengthen Board engagement in fundraising activities Communications, Marketing & Brand Leadership Oversee organizational communications, marketing, and public relations strategies Strengthen ReWA's messaging, storytelling, and community awareness efforts Ensure consistent branding and external communications across all channels Guide website, digital engagement, publications, annual reports, and campaign messaging Help the broader community better understand ReWA's impact, services, and mission Community Engagement & Volunteer Services Provide strategic oversight for volunteer engagement initiatives Identify opportunities to deepen community involvement and partnership development Represent ReWA at community events, donor gatherings, and external stakeholder meetings Build relationships with corporate, civic, philanthropic, and community partners Team Leadership & Organizational Collaboration Lead, mentor, and develop advancement related staff Foster collaboration across fundraising, communications, volunteer engagement, and program teams Create clear expectations, processes, and professional development opportunities Partner with finance and executive leadership on forecasting, budgeting, and revenue planning Contribute as a key member of ReWA's evolving executive leadership team and organizational strategy efforts Grant Strategy & Revenue Development Provide oversight and strategic direction for institutional fundraising efforts Collaborate with grant writing staff and program leaders to align funding opportunities with organizational priorities Monitor fundraising performance and adjust strategies as needed to achieve goals Evaluate emerging opportunities for sustainable revenue growth and long term organizational resilience Who You Are: You're both a strategist and a builder. You Will Bring: A strategic mindset with the ability to create and execute long term advancement plans Experience growing individual giving and major donor programs Strong understanding of donor cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation practices Experience leveraging communications, marketing, and storytelling to support fundraising goals Confidence partnering with executive leadership and governing boards Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop teams A systems oriented approach that creates consistency, accountability, and measurable outcomes Genuine commitment to serving diverse communities and advancing social impact Qualifications also Include: Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 7+ years of progressively responsible fundraising, advancement, development, or philanthropic leadership experience Experience leading teams and supervising staff Demonstrated success developing and implementing fundraising strategies Experience working with major donors, individual giving programs, and donor stewardship initiatives Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment Ability to work effectively with diverse communities, stakeholders, and leadership groups Strongly Preferred: Executive or senior leadership experience within a nonprofit, university, healthcare system, foundation, or similarly complex organization Experience overseeing communications, marketing, public relations, or brand strategy functions Experience partnering with boards of directors on fundraising initiatives Knowledge of fundraising CRM systems such as Salesforce Relevant fundraising certifications (CFRE or similar) Experience leading organizational growth, transformation, or advancement initiatives A Few Things We'd Love to See: The strongest candidates will likely bring experience building sophisticated donor engagement programs and creating fundraising systems that move beyond event based fundraising alone. They will understand how donor stewardship, communications, branding, volunteer engagement, and community partnerships work together to strengthen organizational impact and long term sustainability.
