Senior Director of Packaging Design

Senior Director, Packaging Design Join a dynamic team at the forefront of innovation in consumer products! We are seeking a Senior Director of Packaging Design to join full-time a fun global company and lead their talented team of designers and production artists. In this role, you will drive the development, execution, and production of brand packaging concepts for girls brands. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that packaging reflects and advances the companys brand identity while meeting the highest standards of quality and innovation. Your main responsibilities will include: - Manage team performance, fostering professional growth and development. - Manage internal and external resources to develop cutting-edge packaging designs, overseeing both aesthetic and structural considerations. - Lead packaging strategies and design systems, fostering team growth and mentorship. - Drive packaging innovation, exploring new materials and cost-effective solutions. - Maintain project timelines and ensure adherence to development calendars for timely product releases. - Provide clear, on-brand creative direction and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. - Stay abreast of emerging packaging trends and requirements, guiding teams to innovate within the toy and related industries. - Collaborate with global counterparts to align design objectives and messaging. Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in graphic design, art, industrial design, or related field required. - 8-10 years of experience in packaging design within the consumer products industry, preferably in girl toys. - 5-8 years of progressive leadership experience in packaging design or a related field. - Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and other relevant design software. - Expertise in packaging production processes, including die lines, printing techniques, and substrate selection. - Strong understanding of design principles, layout, and typography. - Excellent project management and communication skills. - Experience in trade show design is advantageous. - Multilingual capabilities are a plus. This is a full-time, hybrid opportunity in the LA area. 100% remote is not an option for this position. Salary range is $165-180K/year, DOE.
