Overview
ENERCON is seeking a Senior Director, Operating Facilities Engineering to lead our engineering design organization supporting the commercial nuclear operating fleet. This senior leadership role will provide strategic direction and organizational oversight for our Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Design Engineering groups.
The Senior Director will lead and develop the Engineering Directors responsible for these disciplines and will be accountable for the overall performance, capacity, and long-term capability of the Operating Facilities Engineering organization. This leader will ensure our teams have the people, processes, and capabilities necessary to consistently support our commercial nuclear clients.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Organizational Leadership & Strategy: Lead the Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, and I&C Design Engineering organizations supporting our commercial nuclear business. Establish priorities and long-range plans aligned with client needs and business objectives.
- Director & Talent Development: Lead and develop the Engineering Directors responsible for each discipline. Build a strong leadership and talent pipeline through recruiting, mentoring, career development, succession planning, and knowledge transfer.
- Engineering Performance: Drive consistent performance across the organization with a focus on safety, quality, schedule, budget, productivity, and accountability. Establish and monitor key performance indicators and lead improvements where needed.
- Workforce & Capacity Planning: Maintain a forward-looking view of engineering demand and develop workforce and capability plans to support project commitments, outage schedules, emergent client needs, and anticipated growth.
- Business & Client Alignment: Partner with commercial nuclear business leadership, Operations, and Project Management to align engineering resources and capabilities with client priorities, project needs, and business growth.
- Engineering Excellence & Collaboration: Partner with Chief Engineers and other technical leaders to promote engineering excellence, consistent practices, lessons learned, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, Nuclear, or related Engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 15+ years of progressive engineering experience, with significant experience supporting commercial nuclear power facilities.
- 10+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience, including experience leading engineering managers and/or directors within multidisciplinary engineering organizations.
- Demonstrated experience supporting engineering design and plant modifications for operating commercial nuclear facilities.
- Strong understanding of nuclear design engineering processes, design control, quality requirements, and disciplined engineering practices.
- Demonstrated experience with workforce planning, resource management, talent development, and organizational leadership.
- Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed organizations and collaborate across Engineering, Project Management, Operations, and business leadership.
- Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to travel overnight as required to support employees, projects, offices, and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading multiple engineering managers or directors within a large multidisciplinary engineering organization.
- Experience supporting major plant modifications and capital projects at operating nuclear facilities.
- Experience with long-range workforce planning, proposal development, resource forecasting, and project execution planning.
- Demonstrated success developing engineering leaders and driving improvements in quality, productivity, and execution performance.
Pay Range
USD $178,400.00 - USD $267,600.00 /Yr.Additional Information
