The Sr. Director, Scientific Communications & Medical Communications will lead the strategy and execution of scientific communications, medical information, and publication planning in support of the company’s pipeline and eventual commercial launch. This role is critical in shaping the scientific narrative of the organization, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance across internal and external communications. The individual will partner cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to deliver impactful and timely scientific exchange aligned with corporate and program objectives. This is a unique opportunity to build and scale the function in a dynamic biotech environment, working cross-functionally across departments to ensure that our scientific story is disseminated with accuracy, impact, and credibility. Responsibilities Scientific Communications & Content Lead the development of disease-state and product-specific materials (e.g., slide decks, digital tools, publication extenders) in collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders. Ensure the Scientific Communication Platform aligns with Medical Communications objectives through cross-functional collaboration. Drive the omni-channel scientific communications strategy in alignment with Medical Affairs and corporate objectives. Develop and implement publication plans to support scientific visibility and credibility. Stay current on evolving medical communications trends, best practices, and channels to deliver impactful and compliant programs. Medical Information Oversee the development of standard and custom responses to unsolicited requests, ensuring all content is scientifically accurate, balanced, and compliant. Create and maintain internal Medical Information resources (e.g., FAQs, technical response documents) to support field-based and internal colleagues. Publications Planning Lead publication strategy and execution for clinical and nonclinical data, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations. Partner with investigators, authors, and internal SMEs to ensure timely, high-quality publications in alignment with data generation milestones. Oversee external medical writing vendors and publication agencies to deliver compliant and impactful publications. Track and report progress against publication plan to internal stakeholders. Core Competencies Strategic thinker with the ability to translate scientific insights into clear, compelling communications. Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills, with a focus on fostering empowerment and accountability. Demonstrates ability to establish new departmental capabilities, processes, and procedures. Proven strength in project management, consistently delivering multiple workstreams on time and with quality. Highly effective communicator with excellent presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills. Results-driven, proactive problem solver with experience in conflict resolution and vendor management. Qualifications Advanced medical or scientific degree required: MD, PharmD, or PhD. 12+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech Medical Affairs experience, including 7+ years in Medical Communications Experienced leadership in building and leading a communications team. Demonstrated success in product launch planning and execution. Experience in publications, congress planning, medical education, and omni-channel content strategy. Established track record of KOL and society engagement as well as scientific collaboration. Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks governing medical communications (e.g., FDA, OIG, PhRMA, and international equivalents). Proven ability to establish and manage a Medical Information function, including vendor oversight and call center management (preferred). Travel: Up to 20% domestic travel, Valid US driver’s license required, ability to travel without restrictions. This position is eligible for standard Company benefits including medical, dental, vision, time off and 401K, as well as participating in Mineralys incentive plans are contingent on achievement of personal and company performance. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. US Salary Range: $265,000 - $290,000 #LI-DNI
