Who are we?
Equinix is the world’s digital infrastructure company®, shortening the path to connectivity to enable the innovations that enrich our work, life and planet.
Role Summary
Reporting to the VP Procurement, Operations and Business Enablement, the Senior Director, Supply Chain Operations and Intelligence leads the business transformation agenda for Equinix’s supply chain operations, platforms, data architecture, and ways of working. This role defines the future-state operating model, business intent, capability roadmap, functional requirements, data standards, governance expectations, and value outcomes required to modernize planning, inventory management, procurement execution, and enterprise decision-making. Partnering closely with DIO (Digital & Innovation), which owns technical solutioning, architecture, integrations, configuration, and delivery mechanics, the Senior Director translates transformation priorities into scalable business capabilities and sustained adoption. The role defines the business requirements that support Operations—specifically Major Capital Expense and Global Design & Construction—along with planning and inventory management; sets master data management (MDM) expectations and supply chain data standards; and leads business readiness across acceptance criteria, user acceptance testing (UAT), pilots, process redesign, change management, and adoption. The role also serves as a trusted enterprise transformation partner, connecting business, data, process, organization, and technology to simplify work, improve decision speed, strengthen operational resilience, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the supply chain transformation strategy and business capability roadmap, defining future-state operating models, outcome priorities, functional requirements, process expectations, and value cases for planning, inventory management, MDM, and procurement enablement, while partnering with DIO on technical solutioning and delivery.
- Support MCE and GDC planning and inventory management processes by defining the business outcomes, functional needs, and data requirements that platforms and tools must enable to plan capacity, allocate inventory, and manage supply commitments.
- Own the supply chain business data strategy, MDM requirements, data standards, governance expectations, and data quality rules, partnering with DIO on architecture, integrations, and implementation.
- Support product management for supply chain platforms by defining business acceptance criteria, prioritizing capability needs, coordinating UAT, and designing pilots that validate business readiness and adoption.
- Lead end-to-end business transformation, including process redesign, operating-model changes, stakeholder alignment, communications, training readiness, adoption planning, and benefit realization for new supply chain and procurement capabilities.
- Serve as a trusted transformation partner to enterprise teams, shaping and mobilizing cross-functional initiatives that require supply chain platform, data, process, operating-model, or organizational change expertise.
- Partner with DIO, Procurement Operations, Planning, Finance, Legal, and other business stakeholders to align transformation priorities, capability sequencing, roadmap investments, change impacts, and value realization.
- Establish governance, standards, and controls for supply chain data and business requirements, including data quality and change management expectations, while partnering with DIO on system-level controls and technical guardrails.
- Provide executive-level visibility into platform performance, inventory health, MDM data quality, and project/pilot status through KPIs and dashboards.
- Lead and develop a high-performing global team across platform, data, and product enablement capabilities, ensuring clear accountability and succession depth.
- Represent the supply chain platforms function in cross-enterprise forums, influencing stakeholders across Operations, DIO, Finance, and business units.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience in supply chain operations, procurement enablement, planning, inventory management, business process transformation, data management, or related disciplines within a complex global enterprise.
- Demonstrated experience defining business capability requirements, business cases, roadmap inputs, value outcomes, and lifecycle needs for supply chain or planning systems, with clear partnership across DIO/technology teams on solution delivery.
- Deep working knowledge of supply chain planning and inventory management processes, including capacity planning, allocation, and execution support.
- Strong understanding of master data management (MDM) principles, business data ownership, data quality management, and governance expectations across enterprise systems.
- Experience supporting product management activities, including requirements definition, UAT coordination, pilot execution, and adoption readiness for new tools and capabilities.
- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale transformation from strategy through execution, including operating-model and process redesign, stakeholder mobilization, change management, capability deployment, adoption, and benefits realization.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence without authority across DIO, Operations, Planning, Finance, and business teams.
- People leader with experience building, coaching, and mentoring high-performing teams across geographies and time zones.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or related field) or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ERP, planning, and inventory management systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or Kinaxis, and modern data architecture/MDM platforms.
- Experience supporting enterprise-wide special projects, partnering across multiple functions to deliver cross-organizational outcomes.
- Master’s degree (MBA, MS) or relevant certifications, such as APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP, or PMP, a plus.
Leadership Competencies
- Transformation leadership: Creates a compelling future-state vision, connects platform, data, process, and operating-model changes to business outcomes, and mobilizes stakeholders to deliver sustained change.
- Judgment and courage: Makes clear calls on business capability needs, prioritizes requirements, and holds teams accountable for outcomes while partnering with DIO on delivery execution.
- Influence and collaboration: Builds trusted partnerships across DIO, Operations, and Business Units; aligns stakeholders through data and clarity.
- Operational rigor: Establishes repeatable processes, reliable data, clear governance, and a disciplined cadence for business readiness and adoption.
- Executive communication: Synthesizes complex platforms, data, and planning topics into crisp, decision-forcing insights for senior leaders.
- Talent builder: Develops leaders, builds bench strength, and creates scalable team structures.
Success Measures (First 12–18 Months)
- Supply chain transformation strategy, future-state operating model, and sequenced capability roadmap established with clear executive sponsorship, strong DIO partnership, defined value cases, and measurable adoption, performance, and business-value improvements.
- MCE and GDC planning and inventory management processes supported by reliable business requirements, timely platform data, and functionality that enables operational decision-making.
- MDM foundations established with defined data standards, improved data quality, and fewer data-related exceptions impacting planning, inventory, and procurement decisions.
- Product management support operating effectively, with UAT and pilots completed on schedule and clear feedback loops into roadmap priorities.
- Demonstrated enterprise transformation value through simplified processes, stronger adoption, improved decision speed, and successful delivery of cross-functional initiatives with tracked benefits.
