Senior ELN Configuration Engineer

We are seeking a Senior ELN Configuration Engineer to lead the configuration, enhancement, and strategic evolution of Signals Notebook, an electronic laboratory notebook used across R&D to document scientific experiments and results.

Acting as a trusted technical authority, you will partner with Business Analysts, scientists, and technology leadership to shape complex business and laboratory requirements into scalable, robust, and user-centered configuration solutions. You will also mentor more junior engineers and influence the long-term direction of the ELN platform.

The successful candidate will lead requirements elaboration, architect solution designs, oversee testing and release implementation, govern documentation standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives, while ensuring that all changes meet applicable quality, data-integrity, and governance expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the configuration and enhancement of Signals Notebook to support scientific experiment documentation across R&D
• Partner with Business Analysts, scientists, and technology teams to elicit, challenge, and refine complex requirements
• Translate strategic business and laboratory needs into scalable, user-centered configuration solutions
• Architect, build, and maintain advanced templates, workflows, and configurations within the ELN platform
• Own solution design end-to-end and lead technical decision-making across initiatives
• Define and oversee testing strategies and coordinate release implementation activities
• Establish and maintain documentation standards covering configurations, processes, and user guidance
• Drive the strategic roadmap and continuous improvement of the ELN platform and related processes
• Ensure all changes adhere to applicable quality, data-integrity, and governance expectations, and advocate best practices across the team
• Provide expert-level support to end-users, resolve complex configuration issues, and mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a configuration or similar technical role within a laboratory or R&D environment
• Deep expertise in Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) platforms, with hands-on mastery of Signals Notebook
• Strong background in lab automation and designing solutions that support complex scientific workflows
• Advanced proficiency in translating strategic business and laboratory requirements into scalable configuration solutions
• Demonstrated expertise in solution architecture, test strategy definition, and release management
• Solid understanding of quality, data-integrity, and governance expectations in regulated environments, with experience ensuring compliance across projects
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration with Business Analysts, scientists, and technology teams, and to influence stakeholders at various levels
• Expertise in establishing documentation standards for both technical and user-facing materials
• Strong familiarity with R&D processes, scientific experiment documentation, and industry best practices
• Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)
