Senior Embedded Systems Developer – Helsinki, Finland – Hybrid

Empiric are supporting a leading organisation on a long-term Embedded Systems Developer requirement in Helsinki.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced embedded software specialist to work across software development, automation, electrical engineering and control systems within a multidisciplinary expert team.

You’ll be responsible for developing embedded software using C, C++ and Python, contributing to systems that connect software with electrical and automation technologies.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on embedded systems software development experience.
• Good proficiency in C, C++ and Python.
• Understanding of control systems and electrical engineering.
• Experience using Git version control.
• Understanding of software testing fundamentals.

Nice to Haves

• Experience working with electrical power engineering and power electronics.
• Knowledge of inverters, rectifiers, DC/DC converters or similar technologies.
• Experience designing control loops and analysing system dynamics.
• Experience with energy conversion solutions or battery energy storage systems.
• Exposure to renewable energy systems, smart grids or microgrids.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or Jenkins.

Contract Details

Location: Helsinki / capital region, Finland

Contract Setup: Freelance / B2B

Work Mode: Hybrid — approximately 2 days per week in the office

Duration: 12 months or more

Allocation: Full-time, 100%

Start Date: 19 October 2026, subject to agreement
