What you will do
- Manage a complex book of employee benefit business with multiple funding arrangements and customized plans.
- Serve as the primary client liaison, coordinating support between clients, insurance carriers, and technical resources.
- Lead client renewals by analyzing utilization results, negotiating with carriers, and presenting recommendations.
- Advise clients on employee benefits compliance, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, Form 5500 reporting, and Health Care Reform.
- Develop renewal, enrollment, and benefit-change communications while resolving contract interpretation, billing, and service issues.
- Provide subject-matter expertise, peer-review client deliverables, and develop training for the Account Management team.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in employee benefits or a related marketplace.
- Strong practical knowledge of benefit plan design, funding arrangements, and compliance requirements.
- Active Life and Disability insurance license, or the ability to obtain one within four months of employment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, judgment, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet-based applications.
- Bachelor’s degree and prior customer service experience are preferred.
