About the Role
Join a regional employment law practice advising and representing employers in complex California matters. You will manage litigation independently, guide junior attorneys, and build trusted client relationships while contributing to the growth of the practice.
What You'll Do
Defend employers in state and federal court against FEHA, Title VII, wage and hour, class action, and PAGA claims.
Manage cases from intake through resolution, including discovery, motions, court appearances, arbitrations, and administrative proceedings.
Advise employer clients on workforce management, HR policies, and compliance with California employment laws.
Develop case strategy, supervise and mentor junior associates, and maintain strong client relationships.
Contribute to practice growth by serving existing clients and developing business, including through a portable book of business.
Handle trade secret and unfair competition disputes involving employer clients.
What We're Looking For
At least 8 years of employment litigation experience, including complex employer-side defense work.
Active California Bar membership and a JD from an accredited law school.
Experience handling FEHA, PAGA, wage and hour, class action, and Title VII matters, with appearances before courts, arbitrators, and agencies such as the EEOC, CRD, or DLSE.
Experience advising employers and litigating trade secret and unfair competition claims.
A partial portable book of business and demonstrated client development skills.
Strong legal analysis, negotiation, consulting, case management, and mentoring skills.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range is $175,000 to $225,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
This is a hybrid role based in San Mateo, California. Candidates should be willing to work from an office in the Silicon Valley, Tri-Valley, or Peninsula area.
