About the Role
Join an established California law firm's employment law practice as a senior attorney focused on defending employers in complex litigation and advising clients on workplace compliance. You will manage matters independently, guide junior associates, and contribute to client relationships and practice growth.
What You'll Do
Defend employers in state and federal litigation involving FEHA, Title VII, wage and hour disputes, and PAGA and other class actions.
Manage cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, and appearances before the EEOC, CRD, and DLSE.
Advise clients on workforce management, HR policies, and compliance with California employment laws.
Develop client relationships and business, while supporting existing clients and growing the practice.
Lead case strategy and supervise and mentor junior associates.
Handle employment-related trade secret and unfair competition litigation.
What We're Looking For
At least 8 years of post-JD experience handling employer-side California employment litigation.
Active California Bar license and a JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
Experience defending FEHA and PAGA claims, wage and hour matters, and complex employment disputes.
Experience with trade secret and unfair competition litigation, as well as appearances before the EEOC, CRD, or DLSE.
Employer-side litigation and HR counseling experience; plaintiff-side or employee-side practice experience does not meet the role requirements.
Demonstrated client development and origination skills, including at least a partial portable book of business.
Experience at a mid-sized Bay Area firm or reputable employment law boutique, with the ability to manage cases and mentor junior attorneys.
Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
Remote role based in California, with a willingness to work from a Silicon Valley, Peninsula, or Tri-Valley office as needed.
