Senior Engineer - API & Integrations

A growing software business needs a senior engineer to take ownership of its API and integrations.
You will make the interfaces other systems rely on more reliable, easier to test and simpler to extend.

This is a hands-on role with real technical ownership. The platform is established, and its integration layer needs clearer standards, stronger testing and better visibility when something fails. You will shape how this work is done, then build patterns the wider engineering team can use.

What you will take on:

• Own the public API contract, including versioning, deprecation and backward compatibility.
• Review existing integrations and build reliable tests around the interfaces customers depend on.
• Improve monitoring and reconciliation so failures become visible sooner.
• Create repeatable patterns for assessing and delivering new integrations.
• Set engineering standards and help other developers apply them.

What you will bring:

• Senior software engineering experience and a record of owning systems other people rely on.
• Strong API and integration experience, including REST, SOAP, JSON and XML.
• Sound automated testing practice, ideally including contract or integration tests.
• Good judgement around reliability, compatibility and maintainable code.
• Experience with PHP, AWS, SQL and Docker.

You will work closely with an experienced business analyst and a product counterpart, while owning how the work is implemented and whether it is ready to ship.
The role is Brisbane-based / fully remote, with no regular office attendance (apart from) a monthly Town Hall that requires an in-person aspect.
