Job Mission 🚀

Lead the team that decides how Tibber's customers meet Tibber, right as engineering shifts to agents. The Customer Experience domain owns how Tibber customers meet Tibber every day: the Tibber app and the technology behind it, and the conversational assistant that is evolving from a support chatbot into a broader customer companion. This is where our energy products, smart-home devices, and savings become real for customers.

As Senior Engineering Manager, you are the Engineering Lead of this domain: 8-15 engineers across subteams, including a Staff Engineer and Tech Leads. You lead the domain together with your Product, Design, and Data counterparts, set multi-quarter direction, and shape how Tibber's customer experience is built in an agentic engineering world. The role reports to the VP of Engineering.

What you'll do ✅

• Domain leadership: lead the domain together with Product, Design, and Data as equal partners, and own its multi-quarter roadmap, aligned to Tibber's business goals.
  

• People: own team health, performance, and growth for the engineers in the domain. Build an inclusive, transparent, and psychologically safe environment where failure is a learning opportunity, not a career risk, and grow the Staff Engineer and Tech Leads as leaders in their own right.
  

• Delivery: be accountable for the domain shipping with quality and reliability across the app and the customer companion. Make sure engineers understand the why, not just the what, and hold the line when pace threatens quality or team sustainability.
  

• Technology: keep a clear picture of the technical state of the domain, and partner with the Staff Engineer to set and uphold technical direction and connect it to business outcomes.
  

• Leading the agentic transition: help engineers reorient their role, from writing code to directing, reviewing, and owning the output of agents. Set the bar for how the domain builds AI-powered customer experiences responsibly: reliable, observable, and safe.
  

• Beyond the domain: contribute to engineering-wide ways of working, hiring, and onboarding, and represent the domain across Tibber.

What we're looking for⚡

• Have at least 5 years of experience leading software engineering teams, ideally including leading around 10 engineers or more across multiple subteams
  

• Have a strong engineering background: you have built and shipped software yourself and can hold a credible technical conversation about mobile/app architecture and modern AI-driven product experiences
  

• Have owned a consumer-facing product surface, ideally a mobile app at scale
  

• Have led a domain jointly with Product and Design, setting and executing multi-quarter direction in ambiguous environments
  

• Care genuinely about people. You coach, give honest, caring feedback, and make difficult decisions when needed
  

• You've led engineers into agentic development and have the results to show for it. You understand that the shift is as much about mindset as technology, combining new tools and workflows with helping people rethink how they work
