Why LeoLabs? At LeoLabs, we're building the living map of activity in space. Through our proprietary global radar network and AI-enabled analytics platform, we collect millions of measurements daily on more than 25,000 objects in low Earth orbit (LEO). Our radar-powered intelligence protects billions in assets, monitors adversarial behavior, and ensures safe operations for commercial and government missions. We're not just building technology, we are redefining global security, safety, and transparency in space. As orbital activity accelerates and threats grow more complex, LeoLabs is a trusted partner for Space Domain Awareness, Space Traffic Management, and Satellite Operations for top-tier space operators and allied defense organizations. If you're looking to work on mission-critical challenges at the forefront of aerospace, national security, and AI, your impact starts here. LeoLabs is seeking a Senior Engineering Project Manager to lead the technical execution, integration, and operational performance of advanced radar systems supporting space domain awareness and national security missions. This role will oversee all contracts and awards, ensuring they are scoped into the work the radar systems team needs to work on, keeping track of conflicts and continuing work to ensure execution of all deliverables. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in project management, planning, contract navigation, and software development life cycles. **This is a remote position with occasional travel to Menlo Park and other client sites. Responsibilities Contracts and Engineering Derive engineering requirements, milestones, and deliverables from contracts in collaboration with go-to-market and product teams. Work alongside Radar Systems technical leaders to plan engineering solutions that satisfy contract requirements and deliverables. Collaborate with radar product managers to ensure engineering priorities align with company strategy and incoming contract commitments. Requirements and Deliverables Own requirements management, working with product management to develop, decompose, and record requirements in Altium Requirements and Systems Portal. Maintain traceability from contract language through engineering implementation and verification. Own tracking and on-time delivery of contract deliverables, leading or coordinating with technical writers as needed. Maintain deliverable status and milestone progress summaries for internal stakeholders. Project Execution, Scheduling, and Prioritization Lead project planning and execution for radar system development, integration, testing, and operational support, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met on time and within scope. Work with technical leaders to assess level of effort and balance workload across the team. Develop and maintain project schedules that reflect realistic effort estimates, track contract milestones, and surface schedule risks early. Manage project tracking workflows in Jira, ensuring work items are current, well-structured, and linked to contract milestones. Drive engineering prioritization decisions in consultation with go-to-market and technical leaders, ensuring decisions are communicated clearly and reflected in team work plans. Own person-hour budgeting across active and incoming contracts; provide data-driven input to hiring and staffing decisions by maintaining visibility into current and projected engineering demand. Communication and Coordination Serve as the primary liaison between the Radar Systems engineering team and internal stakeholders (contracts, product, go-to-market, and government compliance teams). Provide status reporting to engineering leadership on project health, schedule adherence, resource utilization, and risks. Support customer-facing meetings as needed by preparing materials, gathering technical inputs, or providing project status context. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field. 10+ years of experience in radar systems, sensor systems, aerospace, defense, or related technical environments. Proven ability to manage technical execution across multiple engineering disciplines. Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Personnel Security Clearance. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Familiarity with radar, or other sensor systems Strong math skills Experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or Space Force programs.
