The Doctoral College at City St George's supports doctoral researchers throughout their academic journey, from enrolment to award. We are seeking to appoint an individual to a newly created role that will lead the development of more consistent, transparent and effective financial processes and services for our postgraduate research (PGR) community. Working collaboratively across the Doctoral College, Schools and professional service teams, the postholder will drive operational excellence and enhance management information and reporting to support strategic decision-making across PGR provision.

The role holder will be responsible for the oversight, analysis and continual improvement of financial record management and reporting for postgraduate research activity across the University's Schools and Research Centres. Acting as the Doctoral College's subject matter expert in postgraduate research finance, they will provide guidance to academic and professional services colleagues, promote best practice, and drive process improvements while ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and institutional requirements.

Working closely with the Schools and colleagues across Finance and Research and Innovation Services, the postholder will play a key role in the administration and management of studentships, ensuring the effective delivery of payment processes, accurate record-keeping, and robust financial reporting.

As a member of the Doctoral College Management Team, the role holder will contribute to shaping the strategic direction and priorities of the Doctoral College, supporting the continued enhancement of the postgraduate research experience and provision across the University.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of higher education finance administration and a proven track record of leading service and process improvements. They will possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across a wide range of teams and professional groups. Highly organised and adaptable, they will be able to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within demanding timescales.
